SRI Wins Two ACS Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation Command Task Orders under HRsolutions Contract Vehicle
The Army Community Service (ACS) Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation Command’s (FMWRC) provides an array of programs and services dedicated to maintaining the readiness of Soldiers, families, and communities by fostering self-reliance, resilience, and stability. The programs and services are available to Active Component, Reserve Component (RC) forces, National Guard (NG) forces and emergency-essential civilians in support of military operations. These services include mobilization and demobilization readiness, family readiness, spouse employment, exceptional family needs, family advocacy, financial management, and Army Family Team Building. ACS support during the Global War on Terrorism (GWOT) requires increased access to these services for military/civilian personnel and their family members who are affected by rapid transitions due to GWOT. Current ACS staffing is insufficient to meet demands imposed by the operational tempo of the Army's current missions. As such, the FMWRC has implemented contractor support for two major programs in order to meet current/future deployment readiness requirements.

SRI is the selected contractor of choice for a three-year task order contract to support the Army Community Service (ACS) Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation Command’s (FMWRC) New Parent Support Program which establishes support services necessary to enhance service-member and family readiness during the Global War on Terrorism (GWOT). This task order increases New Parent Support Program-Home Visitation support services and educational training by informing and instructing service members and family members on family life issues critical to sustain well-being.
SRI’s 145 Infant and Toddler Advocates will support new parents at 28 CONUS installations and 11 OCONUS sites in Germany, Italy and Korea. The FMWRC home visitation program provides trained social professionals who work with parents of children prenatal to three years of age, who have been assessed to be at risk for child maltreatment and/or domestic violence. This program reinforces the Army's commitment to strengthen the family unit and eliminate incidents of maltreatment and/or domestic violence through a comprehensive program that focuses on education, prevention, integrated support, rapid reporting, thorough investigation, appropriate action, and follow-up for those abused and the abuser.

The program includes the development of standardized training and support packages and ensures service member and family assistance is comprehensive, realistic, effective, coordinated and congruent with military operations. SRI’s 50 Family Service Specialists support 16 Army installations across the Northeast and Northwest regions of the U.S. providing Deployment Readiness, Exceptional Family Member Program Assistance; Financial Readiness, Employment Readiness, and Unit Service Coordinators.
